A fun Vipraspectra LED review. The Vipraspectra 450w has a lot of power in a small package. The smaller version of our Viparspectra 600w LED reflector series grow light, but with a big punch.
The most difficult part of growing weed indoors revolves around making sure your plant receives the right amount of light at the right times. With the compact size of the ViparSpectra LED system at 450 watts, it makes for a great LED grow light within smaller spaces. Super easy to use and set up, this has fast become one of our favorites for small indoor grows.
Viparspectra Review: Keeping the Temps Low
This particular light rig has all the features that LED grow lights should have from full spectrum LED’s, lighting for each phase of plant growth to running at cool temperatures with self-cooling fans, and traditional heat sinks for dissipating warmth fast. This will surely lower costs of an indoor grow by not having to add additional cooling methods that can get pricey.
The Vipar 450w covers an area roughly 30 inches by 30 inches depending on your distance from the plant itself. Your actual wattage will be at 200 watts due to the liquid diodes that need a lot less energy to run. The output is also more stable with robust light wattage overall. Plants love a stable spectrum and respond accordingly.

Growing With The Viparspectra
We used this light on a 2 plant grow and saw really viable responses from our seedlings from flower to cultivation. Just be sure to keep the light at 24 inches above the plant or you can risk scorching your plants although some have reported successful attempts at around 20 inches but this is with close scrutiny of the lighting overall, especially if you opt for the higher wattage these lights come in, for example 1000 watt models at 18 inches will likely hurt your plant more than help it.

It has alternate veg and blooming switches which work great in unison when plants start to flower. It does kick up a bit more heat in this phase but really pushes the full spectrum capabilities with this light and plants seem to thrive and flower beautifully in these conditions.
This basic light is great for those just starting our and not to sure footed when it comes to LED growing. The Viparspectra 300w LED covers just over 2 feet by 2 feet and reaches depths that your plant needs to thrive. As you examine your plants under this light rig, remember that some varieties if ultraviolet light are non-visible to the naked eye and can damage your retinas if you are not careful. I would always recommend using eye protection for examining your plants growth when ever doing so. This way, turning off your LED grow lights can be avoidable. I always keep mine close to my grow tent for ease of access and somewhere highly visible to remind myself to always be safe.
The amount of electrical usage dwindles with this model, which is a huge plus when it comes to having your lights on for growing 24/7. In fact I always go with 24 hours of light during the vegetating cycle and never 18. You can imagine the need to cut down on energy bills in this case and the LED is the way to go for this type of grow.
Another bonus is the coolness at which this LED light runs. The Vipraspectra we reviewed was able to get pretty close to our plants without scorching them or burning them such as an incandescent bulb would naturally do from its overwhelming heat output. These tiny LED’s when stacked up consume about half the amount of wattage than its incandescent counterpart.
Tiny 5 Watt LED lights sourced from reputable manufacturers line up at 90 degrees to point perfectly at your plants for optimum efficiency. The PAR for these lights are the right intensity for growing indoor. Although not completely visible to the naked eye which conforms more to its lumen, you want to focus on PAR here as it is what the plant needs and not what you see.
We arranged the lamp at approximate 24 inches above the top of the plants branches which seemed to produce the best angle and light coverage for the plant itself. This allows for maximum flowering through less overcrowding and let’s face it the flowers are a growers favorite part of planting.
